On 11/07/2018 at 5:48 p.m., the Plainfield Police Department arrested 59 year old Cheryl A. Hicks  of Woodstock for Larceny in the First Degree.

The investigation began when the owner of Concrete Floors Company was made aware that Hicks, who was employed as the office manager, may be inflating her salary in the company.  After looking into the matter it was determined that Hicks had been steadily increasing her salary for years.  Further investigation by the owner showed that Hicks was using the company credit card and other accounts set up by the company to purchase items for herself.  These items were paid for with funds from the company and in addition she used company funds to pay for her personal credit card.  The amount amassed to almost a $500,000 loss to the company.

Hicks, who turned herself in, was processed and charged with Larceny in the First Degree.  She was released on a $10,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Danielson Superior Court on 11/19/2018.
