Woman Had To Be Extricated From Car After 2 Car Crash In Sterling

On Friday October 6th at approximately 12:09pm, members of the Plainfield Police Department, Moosup Fire Department and responded to a two car motor vehicle crash on North Sterling Rd, in the area of its intersection with Snake Meadow Road.

Through investigation it was determined that a 2006 Dodge RAM operated by 44 year old Juaquin Torres, of Sterling, was traveling eastbound on North Sterling Rd, when he failed to maintain his lane. Torres’ vehicle crossed over the centerline into the westbound lane and sideswiped the driver side of a 2005 Buick Terraza, which was being operated by 46 year old Teresa Gulotta of Dayville.

Teresa had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported via KB Ambulance to the Plainfield Backus Emergency Care.

Torres was transported via American Legion Ambulance to the William Backus Hospital in Norwich.

This crash remains under investigation.
