Although not local, an interesting story nonetheless. Saturday, 5/13/17, at around 11:30 p.m. a call came in for officers to check out a fight in progress on Treadwell St in Hamden. When they came across Wisdom South, a 21 year old female from Branford, she had injuries to her face. After lying to the police that she had been injured, South bit an officer in the hand and leg and ran off. South was quickly apprehended and continued to fight officers; then spit blood-filled saliva at the faces of two officers. Once contained in the booking area of headquarters, South kicked another officer and spit blood-filled saliva at yet another officer.
South was charged with four counts of assault on a police officer, assault in the third degree, burglary in the third degree, larceny in the sixth degree, threatening in the second degree, interfering with a police officer and breach of peace.
She was detained on a $100,000 bond, is scheduled to appear in court in Meriden on May 26.
