Water Company Retracts Boil Water Alert For Some Griswold Residents on New Year’s Day

The Connecticut Water Company /  Bay Mountain Water Systems, which serves about 80 Griswold residents had put out a boil water notice due to the quality of the water may not be fit for consumption.

According to a new alert put out on Jan 1st, 2018, The boil water notice has been canceled it is no longer necessary to boil your tap water before consuming.  Lab results confirm that water quality was not affected by the loss of water pressure on Sunday, December 31st and the water is safe to drink. We collected water samples after system pressure was restored. The samples were tested in a state certified laboratory and the lab has confirmed that the water is safe to drink. You may now consume tap water without boiling it first.
