Voluntown Man Injured in Car vs Pole Rollover Accident

On March 6, 2020 at approximately 3:51 P.M., Officers from the Plainfield Police Department along with Plainfield Fire Department and American Legion Ambulance responded to a one car verse utility pole roll over motor vehicle crash in the area of 241 Plainfield Pike in Plainfield, CT.

A 2011 Ford F150 operated by Clifford Gervais, 21, of Voluntown was traveling eastbound on Plainfield Pike when it traveled off the roadway striking a utility pole snapping it causing downed wires across the roadway and across the vehicle as it overturned.

Gervais was extricated from the vehicle by Plainfield Fire Department and transported to Backus Emergency Care Center in Plainfield for minor injuries.

Plainfield Pike in the area of Spaulding Road, Plainfield, CT, remains closed at this time.

The crash remains under investigation.
