Vernon Man Charged With 16 Felony Counts After Burglary

On September 9, the Stafford Resident State Trooper’s office took a complaint that involved a burglary of 7 handguns from Simon’s Pawn Shop in Stafford. An investigation was started and over the past couple of months, 4 suspects were identified. Through the use of various investigative techniques, probably cause was obtained for the arrest of 4 suspects. On 11/20/19, 30 year old Jonathan McEwen of Vernon was arrested while he was at Rockville Superior Court and was processed without incident. McEwen was charged with 16 felony violations such as the following: 1. Conspiracy to Commit Burglary 3rd Degree 2. Conspiracy to Stealing Firearms (7 counts) 3. Criminal Possession of a Firearm (7 counts) 4. Conspiracy to Commit Criminal Mischief 1st Degree McEwen was held on on a $2,500 bond and will be arraigned on 12/2/19 in Rockville Superior Court.

    Just more proof that gun control laws will not stop felons from obtaining guns. They will do whatever it takes to get them.
