***Nicholas, Jason, and James Emory have all been arrested in connection with this case. All are being held on $50,000 bond.
On July 21st of this year, the Eastern District Major Crime Squad assigned to Troop D, received a call from the Department of Children and Families in Willimantic, reporting neglect of 3 children in Danielson. The report indicated that Nicolas Emory and Donna Rodeheffer of Danielson had 3 children under their care, ages 3, 5, and 6. DCF had received a referral finding that the children were missing many teeth, being malnourished, dehydrated, and all 3 children were still in diapers and not able to talk. The children were taken into the care of DCF. Detectives from the EDMC responded and conducted a lengthy criminal investigation. Detectives spoke with family members finding that the children had rarely been out of the Danielson residence, and none of the kids had ever been enrolled in school. After receiving medical care, the children were found to be very underweight, and it was determined that they were extremely neglected. Arrest warrants for both Emory and Rodehoffer were applied for and granted. On Tuesday, Donna Rodeheffer turned herself in to Troop D in Danielson and was processed and charged with 3 counts of risk of injury to a Minor and 3 counts of Negligent cruelty to persons.. Rodeheffer was held on a court set $150,000 bond and was presented in court Tuesday. Nicolas Emory is currently being held in Arizona as a fugitive from justice based on child pornography related charges stemming from an intvestigation by the Connecticut State Police Computer Crimes Unit. When Emory is sent back to Connecticut, he will be charged based on the arrest warrant stemming from this investigation as well as the child porn related charges
