UPDATE: CONNECTICUT STATE POLICE DETECTIVES MAKE ARREST IN DAYVILLE BANK ROBBERY

State Police today arrested a suspect in the robbery of a Dayville bank last week.  Loyduse

 

On Friday, January 29, 2016, at approximately 10:05 a.m., Troopers responded to the Jewett City Savings Bank located at 560 Hartford Turnpike in Dayville for a reported bank robbery.  Upon arriving on scene and investigating, it was determined that a lone suspect entered the bank and began demanding money from the tellers. No weapons were shown during the robbery.

 

The suspect fled the building running east to a vehicle parked in the parking lot of the Owen Bell Park. The vehicle left the parking lot, traveling eastbound on Route 101 towards Rhode Island.

 

A BOLO (be on the lookout) alert was broadcast to local and state police agencies in Connecticut and Rhode Island. The suspect was found by officers with the Scituate (Rhode Island) Police Department and was placed under arrest as a fugitive from justice.

 

Detectives from the Connecticut State Police Eastern District Major Crime Squad interviewed the suspect and determined he was responsible for the robbery. Detectives applied for, and were granted an arrest warrant for 2nd degree Robbery and 3rd degree larceny.

 

On February 1, at 10:00 a.m., Detectives arrested Jason T. Loyd (D.O.B. 09/25/1976) of 324 Rocky Hill Road, Scituate, Rhode Island, and extradited him back to Connecticut.

 

Loyd is being held on a court-set bond of $150,000 and has a court date of February 2, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. at G.A. 11, Danielson.
