Untimely Death in Sterling, CT

State Police Detectives from Eastern District Major Crime are investigating the untimely death of a 9 month old baby girl. On July 14, 2016 at approximately 11:44 a.m. Troopers from D-Danielson responded to 12 Logan Way, Sterling for a 9 month old baby who was reported to be unresponsive. This is a private residence where daycare is provided. Troopers and EMS responded to the scene. EMS transported the baby to Backus Hospital where she was later pronounced deceased. State Police Detectives from Eastern District Major Crime responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) will conduct a post-mortem examination to determine cause of death. There appears to be no criminal aspect to this case at this time.
