On July 20, 2017 at approximately 7:28 pm, troopers responded to the Tolland Country Store gas station on Rt. 195 at Anthony Rd. in Tolland for a report of a road rage incident in which a gun was pointed at the complainant. Troopers met with the complainant, who stated that a black Nissan SUV was tailgating behind him on Rt. 195. The complainant stated that he yelled to the white male operator of the Nissan to back away and leave distance, and the Nissan pulled up along the right side of his vehicle, and the male operator took out a black pistol, pulled the slide back to chamber a round, and pointed the barrel of the gun at him. Troopers determined the suspect Nissan was being operated by a known acquaintance of the registered owner. The operator was identified as 23 year old William Bogner of Tolland, who was located at his residence where the suspect Nissan Rogue SUV was parked, with the engine warm. Troopers made contact with Bogner who denied involvement in the incident. Located in plain view on the kitchen table was a Glock 30 Gen 4 .45 caliber, with a partially filled magazine next to the gun. The gun was registered to Bogner. The description of the suspect provided by the complainant substantially matched Bogner’s appearance. Bogner was placed under arrest and charged with 1st degree Threatening, Reckless Endangerment and Breach of Peace. The firearm and Bogner’s CT pistol permit were seized.
