Troopers Arrest Convicted Felon With Loaded Handgun

On December 15, 2018 at approximately 2100 hours, Trooper Adam Litwin of Troop E stopped a vehicle on Route 2A eastbound in Preston for speeding. Upon making contact with the driver, indicators of criminal activity were observed along with the smell of raw marijuana emanating from within the vehicle. The operator and his passengers were removed from the vehicle and a narcotics detecting labrador was utilized to sniff the vehicle. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, Troopers located a loaded Glock 19 9mm handgun and a small amount of marijuana. The operator, 42 year old Albert Harrison  of the Bronx, NY is a convicted felon and barred from possessing firearms. Harrison was taken into custody and transported to Troop E in Montville for processing. Harrison was charged with Illegal Possession of a Weapon in a Motor Vehicle and Criminal Possession of a Pistol. Harrison was later released on a $5,000.00 cash/surety bond and is it to appear in Norwich Superior Court on 01/30/2019.

Trooper Litwin was a Troop D Trooper for several years before being reassigned to Troop E in Montville.
