On 01/26/2017 at approximately 12:45 pm, members of the Troop D – Quality of Life Task Force were patrolling Route 6 in the town of Brooklyn, CT. While on patrol, Troopers observed a blue Pontiac G5 travelling east on Route 6 commit a traffic violation. Troopers stopped the vehicle on Route 6 near Day Street and approached the vehicle. When Troopers approached the driver’s side window, they observed Ryan Ploof (W/M 04/19/1989) of #40 Chassey Street, Putnam attempting to conceal something under the driver’s seat. For officer safety reasons, Troopers took Ploof out of the car and discovered that he had 70 bags of heroin pre-packaged for sale in his hand. Troopers seized the heroin as well as $865.00 in cash and an Apple Iphone. Ploof was arrested without incident and transported to the Troop D, Danielson Barracks and charged with Possession of Heroin 21a-279(a) and Possession of Heroin WITS – 21a-278(b). Ploof was released on a $20,000 dollar non/surety bond and is to appear at Danielson Superior Court on 02/09/2017 for the above charges. Ploof, who was out on parole, was remanded back into the custody of the Department of Corrections. This is the second time QLTF has arrested Ploof for narcotic related charges.
