On January 9, 2016 at approximately 10:15 PM, Troop D troopers responded to a residence in the Town of Chaplin for report of a disturbance. When Troopers arrived at the scene, they learned that Gregory Bill (DOB 12/10/1982) forced entry into the victim’s home and assaulted the female victim and her eight-year-old child. Troopers also discovered that a valid protective order existed that prohibited Gregory Bill from having any contact with the victim. Bill had fled the scene prior to Troopers arrival but was later located in Plainfield and detained by the Plainfield Police Department. Troopers responded to Plainfield and took Bill into custody and transported him back to Troop D. Bill was charged with a home invasion, burglary in the 1st degree, criminal violation of a protective order, criminal mischief in the 1st degree, reckless endangerment in the 1st degree, assault in the 3rd degree, two counts of risk of injury to a minor, disorderly conduct, interfering with a 911 call, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bill was held on a $150,000 cash/surety bond and was presented in Danielson Superior Court today.
Bill was arrested approximately four weeks ago by Troop D for a domestic violence related incident. Furthermore, Bills criminal history shows that he’s been arrested 14 times in the State of Connecticut.
