TAX BILL CHANGE NOTICE
Due to an agreement that has been entered into between the Town of Griswold and the Borough of Jewett City, beginning July 1, 2016 the Town of Griswold and Borough of Jewett City will now be a combined billing. You will see on the bill a column for total Town Tax and a column for total District Tax (Borough), but the total due box will reflect the combined total of Town and Borough taxes due. It will not be possible to pay only the Town or only the Borough on any of these accounts, as it will be automatically apportioned to the Borough of Jewett City and Town of Griswold. ALL BILLS WILL BE PAID AT THE TOWN TAX OFFICE ON THE FIRST FLOOR, AND CHECKS MADE PAYABLE TO: TOWN OF GRISWOLD FOR ALL BILLS INCLUDING THOSE WITH DISTRICT ACCOUNTS BEGINNING JULY 1, 2016. YOU WILL NO LONGER HAVE TO PAY IN TWO SEPARATE PLACES. I ask for your patience and understanding with this process, as it is new for everyone, and thank you in advance for your patience, cooperation, and understanding.
Leona Sharkey, CCMC/Tax Collector – Town of Griswold (July 1, 2016)
