Three Die In I-95 Wrong Way Driver Crash

On October 9, 2019, at approximately 7:45 PM Troop E starting receiving calls of a wrong way driver on 1-95 north in the vicinity of exit 93 in North Stonington. The driver was going south in the northbound lane which caused a head on collision. 17 year old Abigayl Lanphear of Westerly collided with 85 year old Roger Neal of West Warwick… Lanphear, Noel, and Noel’s wife, 83 year old Dorothy Noel all died in the accident. The 17 year old Lanphear did have a passenger who was also 17 and was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries. The Noel’s had passengers that survived the head on and were taken to the hospital for treatment. The accident remains under investigation.
