Cory Harris, who won his first match on Friday, now advances to the semifinals of the 2016 Jeopardy Teachers Tournament, to be held on Wednesday.

Harris, a resident of Mystic who is among fifteen teachers in the tournament, teaches English at The Williams School in New London, and coaches JV boys soccer. He has been an educator for 12 years.

Each of the fifteen contestants will receive a $2,500 educational grant to fund classroom projects.

Harris plans to use his grant to support the school’s literary magazine by moving from a print publication to a multi-media publication.
