On Thursday morning, November 12, 2020, at approximately 1:35 AM A Connecticut State Trooper was dispatched to investigate a truck accident involving a tractor trailer on I-395 northbound in the vicinity of exit 32, which is the former exit 88, in Plainfield.
The trooper spoke with 47 year old Keith Leger of Attleboro, Massachusetts, who was operating the white 2014 Freightliner tractor and double trailer. The operator explained that he was traveling northbound just before exit 32 in the left lane when he lost control of the truck for an unknown reason. Leger then stated that the truck veered towards the left shoulder and struck a metal beam guide rail with his front bumper causing damage to the front bumper, driver’s side quarter panel, and the entire driver’s side of the truck including the tandem trailers. The truck traveled an additional 328 feet causing the guard rail to become damaged in the center median. Ct DOT was notified of the damage.
Leger didn’t suffer any apparent injury in the crash and could not explain how it happened.
The truck was towed to the owners place of business due to disabling damage.
