On March 24, 2020 at approximately 8:06 P.M., members of the Plainfield Police Department attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop for a stop sign violation on High Street in Moosup. The operator attempted to elude the officers but was unsuccessful when the vehicle was observed pulling into a private driveway on North Main Street.
The operator, later identified as 31 year old Chaz St. George, of Moosup, fled the scene on foot. The Officer subsequently deployed his K-9 partner Warin who tracked to an area several streets away where it was determined that St. George was picked up by another vehicle.
Based on the results of the K-9 track and additional investigation, Officers were able to locate St. George where he was placed under arrest and charged with Interfering With an Officer, Operation of motor vehicle While License is Suspended, and a Stop Sign Violation. St. George was later released on a $2,500.00 cash bond and scheduled to be arraigned at the Danielson Superior Court on April 13, 2020.
