Statewide Narcotics Task Force Seizes Heroin following Sprague Investigation

Sprague, CT (March 12, 2018): Detectives assigned to the Statewide Narcotics Task Force – East Office seized heroin following an investigation.
On March 2, 2018, the Connecticut State Police Statewide Narcotics Task Force – East Office, and troopers from Troop E-Montville, executed a Search and Seizure warrant at 105 West Main Street in the Baltic section of Sprague, CT. The search warrant was issued based upon a combined investigation between the Statewide Narcotics Task Force, the Sprague Resident Troopers Office, and the Montville Resident Trooper’s Office.
As a result of the Search and Seizure warrant, approximately 291 grams (1164 individual bags) of suspected heroin/fentanyl, 60 hydrocodone pills, 25 buprenorphine/naloxone strips, and approximately $8,000.00 in cash was seized from the residence.
Subsequently, Kayla Murray (dob 11/20/1990) and Richard Reiser (dob 6/18/1987), both residents of 105 West Main Street, were arrested and transported to Troop E-Montville where they both were charged with Possession of Narcotics (3 counts), Possession of Narcotics within 1500 feet of a school (3 counts), Possession of Narcotics with Intent to sell and Possession of Narcotics with Intent to sell within 1500 feet of a school. Murray and Reiser each were held on $25,000 bond and are scheduled to appear at Norwich Superior Court on March 16, 2018.
The Statewide Narcotics Task Force-East Field Office is comprised of detectives and agents from the Connecticut State Police, Norwich Police Department, New London Police Department, Willimantic Police Department, University of Connecticut Police Department, Waterford Police Department, Stonington Police Department and the US Drug Enforcement Administration.
