Griswold- On Tuesday evening, Republican delegates in Connecticut’s 45th General Assembly District unanimously endorsed State Representative Brian Lanoue (R-45), for re-election on the November 8th ballot. Rep. Lanoue is currently serving in his second term in the Connecticut General Assembly.
Rep. Lanoue serves on the legislature’s Banking Committee, Commerce Committee, Committee on Children, and is Chair of the Internship Committee. During his two terms in the legislature, Rep. Lanoue has fought to protect children by requiring background checks for children’s camp employees and expanded the CRISIS Initiative Pilot Program, to help those with substance abuse and mental health disorders. Following his strong advocacy, Voluntown was upgraded into the Tier one PILOT reimbursement rate from the State of Connecticut.
“I am delighted to be nominated by the Republican Party for another term as State Representative. It has been the honor of my life to serve the people of the 45th as their representative in Hartford. I am pleased with what we have accomplished, whether it’s protecting kids from sexual predators, to combatting the opioid epidemic or making strides for more equitable state funding,” said Rep. Lanoue. “However, there is much more that needs to be done including pushing back against the assault on parental rights, government overreach, overburdensome tax and regulations, along with creating a pro-innovation environment to allow our young people to create and develop the technologies of the future,” he concluded.
Due to population shifts, the 45th District will now include Griswold, Voluntown, Preston, along with portions of Ledyard and Lisbon. This was determined by the legislature’s Reapportionment Commission in 2021, following the latest census.
