State Police Searching For Car and Driver that Evaded Collision on Route 14 Tuesday Morning

Troop D is investigating an evading motor vehicle accident which happened on Route 14 eastbound in Windham just before the Scotland town line. The offending vehicle passed another vehicle in a no passing zone and side swiped it in order to avoid oncoming traffic. The offending vehicle was last seen heading eastbound on Route 14 at a high rate of speed. This was after the collision. The offending vehicle is described as a newer model black Mercedes C300 sedan with Connecticut Registration plates. The plates were not able to be described at the time. This car will have minor to moderate damage on the passenger side of the vehicle as a result of the collision. The driver was described to be a white male.
The car that was side swiped was a 2008 Elantra driven by George Stuyniski of Plainfield. No injuries have been reported.
Anyone with information regarding this vehicle or the operator is asked to contact Troop D at 860-779-4900. Trooper Davis is investigating the case.
