State Police Investigating Fatal Car Accident from Sunday May 6 on I-395 In Plainfield

Connecticut State Police are investigating a one car fatal accident that occurred on I-395 south, yesterday, May 6th, that took place prior to exit 32 in Plainfield. The vehicle went off the right shoulder, flipped, and collided with a large tree and then burst into flames. There was only one person in the car which was the operator.
Multiple fire departments responded to the scene and closed both the northbound and southbound lanes for a short period of time while the fire was extinguished. After that, all lanes were re-opened except the right lane on the southbound side until the car was removed. The accident is currently under investigation and State Police is requesting that if you have information regarding this accident, to please call them at 860-779-4900. All calls remain confidential.
