Beginning November 20, 2018, when an adult 21 years-old or older crosses the state line into Massachusetts, he or she can legally purchase recreational marijuana, but there will be repercussions for bringing it back to Connecticut. Connecticut law has only “decriminalized” marijuana, NOT legalized it. Still possessing a small amount of marijuana will result in a fine while a larger amount will result in an arrest.
