State Police Detectives Investigate Marlborough Armed Robbery

Middletown, CT (December 30, 2015): On December 29, 2015 at approximately 8:30 p.m. Troopers from Troop K-Colchester responded to Village Green Pizza, 32 East Hampton Rd., Marlborough, for a reported armed robbery.

Upon arrival Troopers secured the scene and searched the area for suspects, none were located. Troopers conducted an initial investigation where they determined Village Green Pizza was robbed at gunpoint by a lone male suspect.  Detectives from Eastern District Major Crime responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.

The suspect was described as a white male with green eyes, approximately 6 feet tall with a stocky build, dressed in a black hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, a black neoprene facemask, and wearing black mechanic-type gloves with white writing on the back of the gloves.  The male suspect entered the establishment, displayed a black-colored semiautomatic handgun, and demanded that employees hand over all of the money in the cash register.  The suspect stated “No Monkey Business” and directed employees to stay back.

Employees placed an undisclosed amount of money in a white plastic takeout bag with a yellow smiley face on it. The male suspect exited the store and entered a dark colored, possibly green, later model Honda or Toyota and headed east towards Route 2.  No injuries were reported.
