State Police Detectives Investigate Bolton Untimely Death

ct_state_police_taurus_1_3_by_avpuppy-d7iigy2Bolton, CT. (January 4, 2016): State Police Detectives from Eastern District Major Crime (EDMC) are investigating the untimely death of a male located on Boston Turnpike in Bolton.

Upon arrival Troopers learned that a female suspect entered the Bolton Gulf Station, confronted the clerk with a switchblade knife, and demanded the clerk give her the money from the register. The female suspect moved toward the clerk and climbed on top of the sales counter. The clerk immediately retrieved his legally-registered firearm, at which time the female suspect quickly climbed down from the counter and exited the store. No shots were fired, no injuries were reported and there was no merchandise or cash taken.Upon arrival Troopers learned that a female suspect entered the Bolton Gulf Station, confronted the clerk with a switchblade knife, and demanded the clerk give her the money from the register. State Police Detectives from Eastern District Major Crime (EDMC) responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. After following up on leads, interviewing witnesses and analyzing evidence, detectives applied for an arrest warrant which was granted by Rockville Superior Court. On Wednesday, December 23, 2015 Detectives took the suspect into custody and processed her at Troop K. The suspect was held on bond and will be presented in Rockville Superior Court today.

Arrestee #1: Nora Mahoney (DOB: 11/01/85) 116 Charter Oak Street, Manchester, CT 06040

Charges: Criminal Attempt to Commit Robbery 1st Degree Conspiracy to Commit Robbery 1st Degree

Bond: $100,000

Court: Rockville Superior Court 12/23/15

On January 3, 2016 at approximately 11:08 a.m. Troopers from Troop K-Colchester responded to the wooded area behind the Department of Transportation (DOT) garage at 362 Boston Turnpike in Bolton for the report of an untimely death of a male.

Upon arrival troopers located a deceased male in the woods behind the DOT garage. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel responded to the scene, determined there were no signs of life, and pronounced the male deceased. Troopers secured the area, and Detectives from EDMC responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) also responded to the scene and will assist in the investigation. The OCME will conduct a post-mortem examination and will determine cause and manner of death.

This untimely death does not appear suspicious; there is no criminal aspect to this investigation.
