Stamford Hits 1000 Positive COVID-19 Test Results

In the latest report (4/7) put out by the State of Connecticut, the numbers are growing by leaps and bounds, day over day. The state now has a total of 7,781 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and the city of Stamford has reached 1,000 alone. Fairfield County continues to have the most positive cases with 4,136. There were additional 71 COVID-19 related deaths from yesterday, bringing the total to 277 fatalities on Connecticut alone. New London County has reported 4 deaths, and 1 from Windham County.
There have been 29,036 tests given in the state which makes 27% of all tests have come back positive in Connecticut to date. The age range with this most positive cases in Connecticut are people between the ages of 50-59 where they account for 1550 positive test results however the death rate in that range is is less than 1% (.84%). The highest still remains the over 80 which is a staggering 23%.
