Somers Assault Arrest

On March 1, 2016 at approximately 10:06pm, State Police Troop C Barracks responded to the area of 156 Main Street in the town of Somers to a report of a female subject screaming. Arriving on the scene, Troopers conducted an investigation and it was learned that Earl Edwards, 47 of Manchester, had assaulted and choked the victim then left the residence on foot. Edwards was walking East on Route 190 towards the intersection of Rt. 190 and Hall Hill Road. Edwards was highly intoxicated and was taken into custody once located. He was booked on the charges of Unlawful Restraint, Second Degree; Strangulation, Second Degree; Assault, Third Degree; and Disorderly Conduct. He was held on a $30,000 cash/surety bond and will appear in Rockville Superior Court to answer to the charges on March 2, 2016.
