Shots Fired In Meriden Sends Suspect To Hartford Hospital

On Friday October 19, 2018 at approximately 12:22 A.M., State Police – Central District Major Crime detectives were requested by the New Haven State’s Attorney’s Office to assist in the investigation of an officer involved shooting that occurred in the CVS parking lot, located at 839 East Main Street, in the town of Meriden.

On Thursday October 18, 2018 at approximately 10:23 P.M., five (5) officers from Meriden Police Department Crime Suppression Unit, traveling in an unmarked vehicle, began following a Buick Century on West Main Street.

The Buick then traveled onto Interstate 691 Eastbound and took Exit 10 onto Route 15 Southbound. At this time, a firearm was discharged from inside the Buick. Officers continued to follow the Buick onto East Main Street, in the City of Meriden, and into the CVS parking lot.

The operator of the Buick, who was identified as 39 year old Ryan Holley of Meriden, exited the Buick with a firearm in his hand, while still moving. Officers exited their vehicle and as Holley turned towards them, three officers discharged their firearms striking Holley. Holley was transported to. Hartford Hospital for the report of non-life threatening injuries. There were no officers injured during the course of this incident.

State Police will continue to assist as the investigation continues.
