A young man found something different when he came home to his Old Lyme home on Monday at approximately 5:55 PM. In his driveway he saw a Jeep Cherokee with no license plates. It was strange because his parents didn’t own a Jeep Cherokee. The juvenile called the police and Troopers out of Troop F responded to the Meetinghouse Lane address in Old Lyme and found something else that was not supposed to be there. A man with no shirt walking about the home inside.
Police set up a perimeter around the house and attempted to contact the man with no luck. Police eventually gained access to the home through an unlocked basement door.
With the assistance of 2 K9’s (Kelo and Jack) they found the man who was identified as 31 year old Benjamin Dahm of Gales Ferry.
Dahm was taken into custody without incident and was charged with Burglary, Trespassing, and Disorderly conduct, as well as a couple others.
Dahm was held on a $50,000 bond.
