Salem Woman Arrested for Plainfield Auto Accident That Sent 2 to the Hospital

On February 21, 2017, at approximately 7:32 A.M., Officers from the Plainfield Police Department arrested the accused Stephanie Januszewski (Age 30) of 108 Hagen Road Salem, CT, as a result of the investigation of a motor vehicle crash that occurred on June 6, 2016.
On June 6, 2016 at approximately12:32 P.M. members of the Plainfield Police Department, Plainfield Fire Department, and American Legion Ambulance responded to a two car head-on motor vehicle crash with injuries on Starkweather Road. Januszewski was operating a 1998 Honda Civic, traveling North in the area of 416 Starkweather Road, when she failed to maintain her lane, crossed the center line, striking an oncoming vehicle head on. Marcia Huhta (Age 76), along with her husband as a passenger, Matti Huhta (age 77), was operating her 2006 Mazda 3, traveling South when the collision occurred. Both operators and the passenger were transported to the hospital for serious injuries as a result of the collision.
As a result of the investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Januszewski and she was arrested at the Plainfield Police Department where she turned herself in, on February 21, 2017. Stephanie Januszewski was charged with Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol and or Drugs and Assault in the Second Degree With a Motor Vehicle. Januszewski was held on a $25,000 Cash/Surety court set bond and she is scheduled to appear at the Danielson Superior Court February 21, 2017.
