Rollover Accident In Wauregan Involves Pair of Minors

On December 12, 2018 at approximately 4:52 PM the Plainfield Police Department along with members of the Atwood Hose and Central Village Volunteer Fire Department and American Legion Ambulance were dispatched to a reported two-car motor vehicle accident on Putnam Rd in the Wauregan section of Plainfield, CT. The accident occurred in the area of 440 Putnam Rd and it was reported that the operators and a passenger involved in the accident sustained injuries. Upon investigation of the accident it was determined that a southbound vehicle operated by 30 year old William Chesters of Danielson, had crossed the center line and was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound by 17 year old Andrew Andersen of Wauregan, CT. Andersen swerved to the right side of the roadway and the impact caused his vehicle to flip onto its roof. Andersen and his 11 year old passenger were transported by the American Legion ambulance to the Plainfield Backus Emergency Care for treatment related to non-life threatening injuries. Chesters was transported to the Day Kimball Hospital by the American Legion Ambulance for treatment related to non-life threatening injuries.
This case remains under investigation.
