Quality of Life Task Force Arrest 2 In Sizable Drug Bust

On 03/30/2017 at approximately 9:30 pm, members of the Troop D – Quality of Life Task Force went to the Quality Inn, located at #55 Lathrop Road, Plainfield, CT in an effort to locate 29 year old Megan Thompson of Plainfield,. Thompson had six outstanding warrants for her arrest and Troopers developed information that she was hiding there. Upon arrival, Troopers located Thompson in her hotel room and placed her under arrest without incident. Also located in the room was Jason Andrews AKA “J-Money” (DOB 05/02/1983) of David Ave., Jewett City, CT. During the course of the arrests, Troopers discovered nearly an ounce of both powder cocaine and crack cocaine pre-packaged for sale as well as a digital scale, packaging materials, $450.00 in US currency and three cell phones, all of which were seized as evidence. Troopers contacted the Plainfield Police Department and a Plainfield Police Sergeant arrived on scene to assist. Thompson and Andrews were transported back to Troop D in Danielson where they were processed. Thompson was charged with Possession of Narcotics 21a-279(a), Possession of Narcotics WITS – 21A-278(b) and (6) Counts of Failure to Appear in the Second Degree 53a-173 and held on $80,000 cash/surety bond pending arraignment at Danielson Superior Court on 03/31/2017. Andrews, who was out on parole, was charged with Possession of Narcotics 21a-279(a) and Possession of Narcotics WITS – 21A-278(b) and held on $50,000 cash/surety bond pending arraignment at Danielson Superior court on 03/31/2017. Andrews was remanded back to the custody of the CT Department of Correction.
