Public Health Announcement: Mosquito with West Nile Virus Trapped At Mount Misery

According to a press release, there was a mosquito trapped at Mount Misery that tested positive for the West Nile Virus, specifically at the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station testing site, which is within the town of Voluntown.  UNCAS Health has notified the Voluntown First Selectman’s office.

The UNCAS Health District has asked that residents spending time outside, and those visiting the Mount Misery area of Pachaug State Forest are encouraged to wear bug repellent and protective clothing.  More as it come available.
