On 08/09/2019 at about 4:20 a.m., the Plainfield Police Department received information from the Connecticut State Police in Danielson that two (2) Verizon stores, Putnam and Killingly were broken into.

Based on the information from the State Police a member of the Plainfield Police Department responded to the area of the Verizon store located at #73 Lathrop Road in Plainfield. Upon arrival a dark colored SUV was observed parked in the fire lane directly in front of the Verizon Store. As the officer approached in his cruiser a person wearing a ski mask and grey sweatshirt was observed inside the store. When the officer was spotted the person fled the store getting into the SUV speeding away from the area. The SUV was pursued onto I-395 south where the pursuit was ended due to excessive speeds.
