Police: Truck Causes Head On After Driving Too Fast For Road Conditions

On August 28, 2019, at approximately 3:17 p.m., Officers from the Plainfield Police Department along with the Atwood Hose Fire Department, American Legion Ambulance and Mortlake Ambulance, responded to a reported two car motor vehicle crash in the area of 447 Putnam Road, in the Wauregan section of Plainfield, Connecticut.
Through the investigation, it was determined that a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado operated by Jayda D. Welsh (18 y/o) of Moosup, Connecticut was traveling northbound on Putnam Road traveling too fast for conditions causing it to lose control. The Silverado crossed into the southbound lane of travel where it struck a 2019 Mitsubishi operated by 17 Year Old.
As a result of the motor vehicle crash, Welsh was transported by American Legion Ambulance to the William W. Backus Plainfield Emergency Department for treatment of suspected minor injuries. Gage was transported by the Mortlake Ambulance to the William W. Backus Plainfield Emergency Department for treatment of suspected minor injuries.
