Police and Fire Departments Rescue Trapped Woman In Single Car Rollover

On April 28, 2020 at approximately 10:12 AM, Officers from the Plainfield Police Department along with members of the Atwood Hose Fire Department, Moosup Fire Department, and American Legion Ambulance responded to a one car motor vehicle crash on Putnam Road in the area of the Plainfield High School tennis courts.

A 2012 Kia Sportage operated by 70 year old Suzanne Mailloux  was traveling Northbound on Putnam Road when it traveled across the Southbound lane and off of the roadway. The Kia Sportage then traveled up an embankment and struck a tree which caused the vehicle to flip and come to rest on its driver’s side, ultimately trapping Mailloux inside. Members of the Atwood Hose Fire Department, Moosup Fire Department subsequently extricated Mailloux from the vehicle who was later transported by members of the American Legion Ambulance Corp to the Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam for treatment of her injuries.

This crash remains under investigation.
