Plainfield Woman Arrested and Gives Trooper That was Familiar With Her False Indentification

Sunday afternoon at approximately 2pm, Troop D troopers responded to the Putnam Walmart for a report of a shoplifter. When troopers arrived, they located the suspect and requested identification. The female suspect gave troopers a false name and date of birth. Unfortunately for the female, one of the troopers recognized her from previous police related contacts and knew her true identity. 21 year oldRebecca Gardiner of Plainfield was placed under arrest for larceny 6th degree (shoplifting) and criminal impersonation. Furthermore, Gardiner was found to have two active arrest warrants. She was additionally charged with two counts of failure to appear. Gardiner was held on bond and is scheduled to appear in Danielson Superior Court on Monday, September 11, 2017.
