Plainfield Upsets Killingly

The Plainfield Boys Basketball Team headed up to Killingly earlier today to take on the Redmen, whose record is currently 4-1. Plainfield entered the game coming off of a loss on January 2nd to the Waterford Lancers 78-54. The Redmen were looking to recover from their first loss of the season on January 3rd, when they were defeated 70-59 by Stonington. Considered the underdog, the Panthers set out to play the spoiler and leave Killingly with two straight loses for the first time this season. There was plenty of action throughout the game and neither team was able to hold on to the lead for very long. Killingly’s Luke Desaulnier led the Redmen with 14 points. Plainfield’s Chris Peasley helped the Panthers keep up with the Redmen throughout the game. Peasley finished the day with 14 points. The game came down to the wire. Plainfield’s Conner Davis and Markeith Conyers helped the Panthers pull off the upset over Killingly. Conyers led the Panthers with 15 points; while Davis had 11 points, improving their team’s record to 4-4 and handing Killingly two straight losses. The next game for the Redmen is Tuesday against Woodstock Academy, while the Panthers will be taking on the Windham Whippets in an away game in Windham on the same day.
