On December 19, 2019 the Plainfield Police Department was dispatched to 75 Community Ave in Plainfield for an unresponsive male that was pronounced dead on the scene inside of a camper that was parked in the driveway next to the home. The victim was identified as 47 year old Keith C. Coolidge Jr.
His brother, 37 year old Keith T. Coolidge was arrested for violating a protective order and criminal trespass at approximately 9:30 PM that same evening. He was held on a $250,000 bond, but the presiding judge lowered the bond to $150,000 with special conditions. Those conditions being that if Coolidge does get bonded out, he will be fitted with a GPS ankle bracelet. Plainfield Police has been treating this as a homicide investigation from the beginning yet needed to compile evidence mainly from the State’s Chief Medical Examiner which has now been determined that the cause of death was compression of the neck.
Coolidge’s bond remains the same at this point and is scheduled to be on court once again on February 28th, 2020.
