Plainfield Police K9 Locates Marijuana During Traffic Stop

On February 11, 2018 at approximately 11:58 P.M., the Plainfield Police Department arrested Joshua Millette, 23, of Plainfield, CT.

While conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Wauregan Rd., Wauregan, CT, an Officer observed a red Chevy Trailblazer traveling eastbound on Wauregan Rd., with a headlight out.

A motor vehicle stop was conducted at the Citgo located at 309 Putnam Rd., Wauregan, CT. The operator was identified as Millette. Through investigation the Officer became suspicious that Millette was in possession of illegal drugs.

The Officer and his K-9 Vail conducted a free air sniff of Millette’s vehicle where K-9 Vail alerted to the presence of Marijuana inside a backpack located in the vehicle. Inside the backpack police located an approximately half pound of Marijuana including packaging

Millette was subsequently placed under arrest and charged with Possession of a Hallucinogenic Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Wood was later released on a $25,000.00 bond.  Millette was charged with Failure to have Headlights Lit, Possession of >4 Oz. Marijuana  and Possession of >4 Oz. Marijuana within 1500 Ft. of a School Zone (C.G.S. 21a-279(b)). Millette was released  and is scheduled to appear at the Danielson Superior Court, 02/26/2018 at 8:30 A.M.
