The Plainfield Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual in the attached images. The police responded to an evading motor vehicle accident that occurred on 10/16/2019 at approximately 8:35am at the Sunoco gas station at 704 Norwich Rd. An operator of a silver/gray colored older model Dodge Durango backed out of a parking space and struck an unoccupied parked vehicle. The operator failed to notify or provide his information to the owner of the parked vehicle who was in the store at the time. Witnesses at the store were able to provide a description of the Dodge Durango and stated that the vehicle sustained damage to the front passenger side area including a broken headlamp/turn signal light area. Debris found at the scene also indicated the same. It was also reported that the evading vehicle was missing the rear bumper or there was damage to the rear bumper area and that the vehicle may have had a different (darker) colored rear hatch door. The male individual pictured was the operator of the Dodge Durango. It is believed the male is approximately 5’08-6’00” in his 20’s to early 30’s. He was wearing a winter work coat similar to a Carhartt coat with an embroidered insignia/writing on the left chest area. He also wore a bright green tee-shirt underneath the coat with jeans and work boots. The Durango entered the parking lot prior to the accident traveling northbound on Norwich Rd and exited the parking lot after the accident continuing northbound on Norwich Rd.
