Plainfield Police Arrest With Active Warrants and Also Find Drugs

On May 23, 2019, at approximately 9:15 a.m., an Officer with the Plainfield Police Department observed 42 year old Lance Payne drive through a construction zone located on Norwich Road. Payne had a valid and active hard-copy warrant for 3rd degree Criminal Mischief and 3rd degree Larceny out for his arrest out of the Plainfield Police Department, stemming from a stolen vehicle from the Music Lady Café on January 27, 2019. After notifying dispatch of Payne traveling northbound on Norwich Road, other Officers were able to intercept Payne as he continued traveling northbound on Norwich Road.
Payne was stopped near the area of 140 Norwich Road and was placed under arrest for his active and valid. Payne was determined to be operating a motor vehicle under suspension at the time of the stop. Payne was also found to have amphetamine/dextroamphetamine pills, and asuboxone sublingual film strip.
Payne was transported to the Plainfield Police Department where he was charged. Payne is being held on a combined $55,000.00 bond and is scheduled to appear before the Danielson Superior Court on May 24, 2019.
