Plainfield Man Arrested in Shooting on South Pine St Plainfield

Yesterday at approximately 10:50 AM members of the Plainfield Police Department responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting at a residence located on South Pine Street in Plainfield, CT. Upon arrival officers located a forty seven year old male who had an obvious injury to his head and arm caused by what he described to be a handgun. The victim reported that he was involved in an altercation with the suspect who fled the scene in a green Mercury Mountaineer. The victim was transported to the William W. Backus Hospital for his injuries. The injuries are non-life threatening. Investigation revealed that the victim was shot with what is believed to be a high powered pellet handgun. Both the handgun and vehicle were located by members of the Plainfield Police Department. The Plainfield Police are currently obtaining an arrest warrant for the suspect involved in this incident. This is an isolated incident where the victim and suspect knew each other. The Plainfield Police Department continues to investigate this incident until the suspect is in custody. Last night Plainfield Police Department at approximately 8:45 PM placed thirty-one year old Anthony Mann of Easy Street, Plainfield CT under arrest charging him with Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm… Mann is being held on 50,000 bond and will be in court today.
