Kevin Shaw, 30, of 916 N. Main St, Danielson, led Plainfield police on a high-speed pursuit through town early Saturday morning. Shaw, who was parked behind the United Services building in the Wauregan section, was approached by officers at approximately 12:20 a.m. Saturday morning. As police approached, Shaw left the roadway, traveling through a corn field, before reentering the roadway at a high rate of speed. Shaw finally pulled over in the area of Black Hill Road, but refused to exit the vehicle after a brief struggle.
Shaw is charged with interfering with a police officer, engaging an officer in pursuit, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, drinking while driving, reckless driving, failure to maintain the proper lane and failure to give a proper turn signal. He was issued a $10,000 bond and is due in Danielson Superior Court on March 21.
