Plainfield Fugitive Who Fled on Domestic Violence Charges Caught

On March 30, 2020 at approximately 5:00 AM detectives from the Plainfield Police Department placed Kyle Gaathje (25 years old) of Troy, New Hampshire under arrest on a felony warrant from 2015. The arrest was based on a failure to appear to a court date in connection to a domestic violence arrest. Upon his release Gaathje subsequently fled the State of Connecticut.

Gaathje was placed under arrested at the Cheshire County Department of Corrections where he was being held on the charge of Fugitive from Justice. Gaathje was transported to the Plainfield Police Department where he was processed and charged with Failure to Appear in the 1st Degree. Gaathje was held on a $5,000 bond which he was unable to secure.

Gaathje was subsequently arraigned at the State of Connecticut Superior Court in New London, Connecticut on March 30, 2020.
