Plainfield Fatal Fire Update – Names Released

On January 28, 2020 at approximately 10:00 P.M., the Plainfield Police Department responded to a residential fire located at 885 Norwich Road resulting in two fatalities. Upon the suppression of the fire, two individuals were located within and pronounced deceased. The two victims were transported to the Connecticut Office of the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Farmington, Connecticut where autopsies were performed on January 29, 2020.
Based on the investigation by law enforcement officials and the fire marshal’s office along with the results of the autopsies, the victims within the residence were identified as William Garriepy (age 83) and Lucas Pearson (age 9), both of whom resided at the residence.
The fire remains under investigation by The Plainfield Fire Marshal’s Office, the Plainfield Police Department, and the Connecticut State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit.
