Plainfield Drives Through Garage, Hits Neighbors Tree

On Tuesday July 7, 2020 at approximately 4:38 P.M., members of the Plainfield Police Department, Moosup Fire Department and American Legion Ambulance responded to High Street in Moosup, Connecticut for a car versus tree motor vehicle crash.
Through investigation, it was determined that a 2017 Subaru Forester operated by 72 year old Patricia Gladding of Moosup, had been driven in reverse inside of her garage subsequently striking a lally column before hitting a wall within the basement. Gladding then placed her vehicle in drive and accelerated through her driveway and into a wooded area of her neighbor’s property before striking a tree.
The Plainfield Building Official also responded to the scene and deemed a portion of the residence uninhabitable.
Gladding was transported via American Legion Ambulance to the Plainfield Backus Emergency Room for suspected minor injuries. This crash remains under investigation.
