On January 17, 2017, at approximately 6:27 p.m. Officers of the Plainfield Police Department, Members of the Central Village Fire Department, and American Legion Ambulance responded to a report of a two vehicle crash on Norwich Road in the area of La Cantina Bar and Grill with unknown injuries.
It had been reported that an unknown make and model passenger car had exited the La Cantina Bar and Grill parking lot causing a gray Ford F150, which was traveling southbound on Norwich Road, swerve in attempt to prevent a collision. The front passenger side of the passenger car struck the rear of the Ford F150 causing the F150 to lose control before striking a utility pole. The unknown make and model passenger car fled the scene, traveling northbound on Norwich Road. After impact with the pole, power lines fell across Norwich Road, where a Tractor Trailer unit ran over and got tangled in the power lines.
Mark Jordan of Moosup was traveling southbound on Norwich road while operating his Ford F150. Jordan stated a vehicle pulled out in front of him, causing him to travel into the northbound lane of Norwich Road. Jordan stated the vehicle struck his vehicle causing him to lose control before striking a utility pole. Jordan’s vehicle came to rest against the utility pole, entangled in the power lines.
Responding Officers located a tan Toyota Camry with visible damage to the front passenger’s side bumper area on Cady Lane.
All involved in the motor vehicle crash declined medical treatment at the scene.
