Pawcatuck Smoke Shop Allegedly Selling Marijuana Based Products

On September 5, 2019, the owner of Legends Smoke Shop, Justin Smith of North Stonington and David Shemansky on of his employees, of Westerly RI, turned themselves into Connecticut State Police Troop E Montville on separate warrant arrests. The warrants resulted from an investigation led by the Statewide narcotics Task Force, Stonington Police, as well as the State Of Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection Drug Control Division after numerous complaints stating that the shop was selling marijuana based products from their store in Pawcatuck. On July 23, 2019, a search warrant executed by members of aforementioned agencies, resulted in the seizure of 13.5 gramsof marijuana, 161 THC vape cartridges, 1115.5 grams of marijuana edibles, several thousand wax paper bags which are commonly used to package heroin, as well as $1131 in cash.
Smith posted a $25,000 bond and Shemansky posted a $50,000 and were both released with the same court date, 9/18/19, in New London[adrotate banner="27"]
