Passenger admits to Drug Possession During Traffic Stop

On 02/25/2017 at approximately 12:00 midnight, members of the Troop D – Quality of Life Task Force conducted a traffic stop on a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am for several traffic violations. The traffic stop occurred on Senexet Road in the town of Woodstock. QLTF Troopers interviewed all three occupants and became suspicious criminal activity was taking place. The front passenger, identified as Alicia Marando, 35, of Putnam, CT, admitted to Troopers that she had heroin on her person. Marando turned over approximately 110 bags of heroin pre-packaged for sale. Marando was then arrested without incident and transported to the Troop D – Danielson Barracks and charged with Possession of Heroin and Possession of Heroin with intent to sell. Marando was released on a $5,000 dollar cash/surety bond and is to appear in Danielson Superior Court on 03/09/17.
